WORLD CUP Qualifying Event
Running on Day 1 of the Festival of Froth is the second Australian IBSA qualifiers. This is one of your final chances, and the only one based in Sydney, to get in the Australian rankings for a team of 8 that will go on to represent Australia at the 2027 world titles.
The first qualifying event was held at in Coolum in April and attracted international attendees and some of Australia’s best bodysurfers. This will be a very competitive event, with participants showing a range of manoeuvres in any surf conditions the wave spirits throw at us.
It's an open-only event only, with Male and Female divisions.
It is a no-hand-plane event.
Fins are optional
No webbed gloves
It is judged by professional judges to IBSA rules.
Heats, Semis and Finals will run on Friday July 24th.
Awards will be held at the Friday night party

This is a fun and inclusive event. 15-minute heats of 4 - 6 contestants. Give us your best wave rides of which the best 2 scores count. Everyone gets 2 heats then the best of the heats move to semis and maybe the finals where the competition becomes more challenging.
We have divisions for Open, Masters (40-55) and Tribal Elders (56+)
The organiser reserves the right to order of heats to meet any change in conditions or to facilitate for interruptions to the program.
